September Obsessions

I’m back and I’m ready to tell you what I’ve been obsessing over for the past month. Remember last September when I started a “favorites” series and then never did it again? Maybe I’ll only ever remember do these in September. But I have the burning desire to tell you about these things, so here we go.

First up, as pictured above:

Pinterest and mood boards

Pinterest has obviously been around for ages but I randomly got super into it and making mood boards. Joe was like, “Kayla, get back to work.” And I was like “I am working Joe, I’m an artist, okay??”

Anyway if you wanna have a look around, I have a bunch of boards.

My friend, Kate, has this really amazing one that I’ve spent hours scrolling through: a-e-s-t-h-e-t-i-c

I also decided to make the above collage for the background of my laptop, because it’s obviously the best use of my time.

At least I feel inspired.

Sweetener by Ariana Grande

I’ve had an up and down relationship with Ariana Grande.

When I was in high school I watched Victorious and thought she was good in it. Then one day I discovered a file online of her singing a cover of “Love the way you lie.” I was obsessed.

When she became a proper recording artist though, I didn’t like her music. But with her last album, Dangerous Woman, I kept finding myself loving the songs.

Then Sweetener came out and I can’t get enough. It’s so good and catchy and it makes me feel so happy. Which is a bit of a change from the music I usually listen to.

Top songs:
* God is a woman
* no tears left to cry
* better off
* goodnight n go

The Knock-off Gucci Belt

These belts have been everywhere recently and I’m allllll about them. The Gucci belts are iconic, but who the hell has £235 to spend on a belt?? Okay, plenty of people do, but not me. Even if I were rich, I’m not sure I would spend that much on a belt.

Instead, I got the ASOS Design Vegan Double Circle belt. (It’s sold out but they have a bunch of others still.)

Super cute and a tiny fraction of the cost. Perfect.

It doesn’t latch like your average belt and can be trickier to get off, so bear that in mind if you ever need to pee really bad.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

Oh my god, this movie! It’s so good!

I wish I had some really deep, insightful things to say about the story but mostly it’s just SO CUTE. And I don’t want to spoil the plot if you haven’t seen it. I’ve watched it twice (or was it three times?) already.

Lara Jean is such a sweet, likable protagonist. Of course she’s not perfect – what romcom leading lady doesn’t have a lesson to learn? But she’s mostly adorable, with great style as well.

The actress, Lana Condor, is so talented and I hope we get to keep seeing her in romcoms everywhere. And all kinds of other roles. Just everywhere.

And don’t even get me started on Peter Kavinsky, played by Noah Centineo. Heart eyes for dayzzzzz.

Lush’s Mask of Magnaminty

My sis-in-law very kindly gave me a pot of this several months ago and I’ve been loving it!

You spread the mask on; it dries on your face and gets all tingly (because of the mint); then after 5-10 minutes you wash it off. It actually helps when my skin is breaking out and getting horrible. And it smells soooo good. The only bad thing is that it always makes me want mint chocolate chip ice cream.

What have you been loving this month?

And if you’ve seen TATBILB, please, let’s talk about how cute it is. xx

Let me know what you thought!
